Hemimorphite is a silicate mineral mined from the upper parts of zinc and lead ores. Hemimorphite is often confused with Smithsonite, although they are different minerals which are closely related.
 
Occurrances: Belgium, Germany, Poland, Russia, Italy, England, Austria and in several locations in North Africa. In the USA it can be found in Phonexville, PA as well as the Missouri lead-zinc district; Elkhorn, Montana; Leadville, Colorado; New Mexico.
